Broken Shells

With a deviation from the focus on security technology, it may be appropriate to address risk in terms of repairing the broken shell that has become the container for a “free” society. The imposition of this term does not ring true for all participants in said society. Without convincing the majority to break ranks, it may still be difficult to find a just and equitable position for those who have not received what they deserve.

Consolidating Black History Month to just a single month in the calendar year itself is a sign of the injustices people of color are forced to face on a daily basis. Their history has been re-written with impunity, lacking disclosure of facts and legitimizing the oppressors that carried out some of the greatest travesties in the history of the world. The fact that we still have living knowledgeable participants to the injustices carried out is lost as those elders are not to be held accountable for their own actions.

The privileges carried by the majority of society today incur a responsibility and duty to move forward providing resources for people in need. As this generation reaches maturity it should be held accountable for its actions, regardless of the popularity of their decisions. Systemic racism will take a systemic movement to make profound impacts on this “free” society.
